Amidst the excitement and glamour of the U.S. Open Tennis Championship, American Express is offering its cardholders an exclusive experience at the event. Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their Centurion Lounge Network, American Express is providing perks such as the Centurion Suite, Card Member Lounge, and the American Express Fan Experience. From custom Ralph Lauren merchandise to cryofacials and massages, attendees can indulge in a luxurious and immersive experience while watching their favorite tennis matches. With a variety of offerings and activations, American Express ensures that their cardholders have a truly unforgettable time at the U.S. Open.
The Centurion Suite
The Centurion Suite, located on the second level of Louis Armstrong Stadium, is a staple at the U.S. Open Tennis Championship. Open from noon to 8 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 28, to Wednesday, Sept. 6, the Centurion Suite offers exclusive access to cardholders who hold certain American Express cards. These cards include The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Enhanced Business Platinum Card® from American Express, The Centurion® Card from American Express, and The Business Centurion® Card from American Express.
Inside the Centurion Suite, guests can enjoy a curated menu of dishes by renowned chefs Cedric Vongerichten and Michael Solomonov, who are the executive chef partners of the Centurion Lounges in LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), respectively. The menu features a variety of delicious options, including hummus and pita with corn, za'atar chicken with moruno-spiced rice, tortelloni with heirloom squash, and beef bulgogi buns with kimchi coleslaw. Guests can also enjoy a selection of wines, cocktails, and the tournament's signature Honey Deuce drink.
In addition to the delectable food and drinks, the Centurion Suite offers an immersive activation where guests can create a personalized leather passport cover based on the results of a quiz that determines their travel preferences. The Centurion Suite also provides mobile chargers by Mophie for guests to use while in the lounge, and there is a chance to win an Amex radio in a vending machine. However, it is important to note that Amex radios are available free of charge throughout the grounds.
Reservations for the Centurion Suite filled up quickly, but hopeful cardmembers can sign up for the lounge's waitlist in person or set up to receive a Resy notification for any last-minute openings. Platinum cardholders can make reservations for a table for up to two people, while Centurion cardholders may make reservations for a table for up to four people. Each reservation provides up to one hour of lounge access. All guests must be at least 21 years old.
The Card Member Lounge
The Card Member Lounge, located on the second floor, is open to all American Express cardholders attending the U.S. Open. This lounge offers a variety of immersive activations and experiences for guests to enjoy. Some of the highlights include customizable, exclusive merchandise from Ralph Lauren, Lavazza espresso martinis, frozen Grey Goose Honey Deuces, Therabody massage therapy, Jason Markk sneaker cleaning services, and free La Roche-Posay sunscreen.
Cardmembers can also claim a new NFT digital collectible experience designed by Escalante to commemorate this year's tournament. This experience, called Mint the Poap, allows cardholders to create an NFT and receive various Amex offers in exchange, such as a token to cover transportation to and from the U.S. Open or a spending offer. The lounge also provides mobile chargers by Mophie for guests to use.
Entrance to the Card Member Lounge is first come, first served, and cardholders can bring up to two guests. The lounge is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The American Express Fan Experience
The American Express Fan Experience is an umbrella term for additional Amex experiences available to U.S. Open attendees. One of these experiences is the lower-level area of the Card Member Lounge, which is open to all guests attending the tournament. Here, guests can enjoy cryofacials by Kollectiv, Glow Tennis (a mixed-reality game similar to Wii tennis), and a full-size tennis court for free play.
Another aspect of the American Express Fan Experience is the Amex Shop in the South Plaza. This shop is accessible to all Amex cardholders and offers various snacks, beverages, and exclusive USTA merchandise for purchase.
Other Amex Activations
In addition to the Centurion Suite, the Card Member Lounge, and the American Express Fan Experience, there are other exciting Amex activations taking place at the U.S. Open. One of these activations is cryofacials, where guests can experience cryotherapy by Kollectiv. This unique facial treatment offers benefits such as reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and boosting collagen production.
Another activation is the opportunity to enjoy game experiences through Glow Tennis, a mixed-reality game that combines virtual tennis with real-world movement. Guests can step onto a virtual tennis court and play an immersive game using specialized equipment.
Amex also offers the Amex Shop, where cardholders can purchase snacks, beverages, and exclusive USTA merchandise. This is a great opportunity to grab a bite to eat or buy souvenirs to remember the U.S. Open.
